Passage reached out to me after hearing my story and have been fantastic....
You see, after Detroit Sounds, the company I had previously used for ticketing held around $1700 of my ticket revenue and were completely unresponsive. Money I already paid out to my musicians - which I have been adamant about. And I don't believe my misfortune shouldn't be passed down. You can thank my Dad for that!
This is a large sum for a working artist. Weeks passed, and as they continued to collect funds for my next show, I laid in bed sick to my stomach... and decided to pull out the heavy artillery. A hard decision for me because I like people to escape their trouble, not hear more. But sometimes shared trouble lightens the load.
I emailed a music journalist for help and he immediately responded. And as soon as he reached the ticket companu for comment....Well, no less than a day later did my money appear in my account. The story was picked up as far as the west coast and I heard from peers and venues that had the same trouble. Glad its in the past but as they say, when life give you lemons, call the press! We got a little bump in the algorithms.
