Dylan and I will be on the road with Ted Russell Kamp early 2026 and we have some dates for the band coming up, too. Scroll down for more info!

For those of you who haven't followed, Dylan and I spent the majority of our time on the road until he was diagnosed with a severely crushed ulnar nerve - to the point that surgery might not be enough to see him return to normal use of his fretting hand. He had severe muscle atrophy. As a result, his hand curved inwards, he had excruciating pain down his arm and numb fingertips. Recovery took over a year and in November of last year we decided to accept the reality, out loud at least to ourselves, he was not going to make a full recovery, music was not going to play the same role in our lives anymore.

Seriously, it was torture to be on a yo-yo and life does not wait. We couldn't count on it. Hearing "you'll bounce back", and "when are you playing next" after all that time triggered anxiety more than anything. We were both taking all the work we could hustle and nothing was enough. It felt like it was time to rip the band-aid off. All this on the heels of Dylan shredding for to up to 30,000. Life has been a roller-coaster.

But shortly after that decision, things turned for the better and we have a new appreciation for "things". The last two years have been a Mount Everest for our emotional and financial well being. Like they say, one domino triggers them all to come down and we also lost a ton of money in the studio that we would never recover, years of saving, right when we needed it most flushed into a poopy abyss. But people do CHOOSE to climb Mt Everest, and look forward to the accomplishment. I'm not an advocate for adversity of any kind. But, as being humans goes we are better and it forced us to tackle some long neglected issues. Our house may not be spotless but there is no proverbial dog doo doo in the middle of the living room being set aside for a more conveinent time to pick up.

At the same time, we feel grateful for the resources we did have and I could not stop thinking of how many others find themselves in similar situations but are exposed to rising rent, have kids, etc. We need each other. And I am so appreciative for the people that have made me smile.

So lets do a tour run now, and do it for the love of music.

About Ted:

Ted Russell Kamp is a Grammy winning musician and has been a professional singer songwriter, bass player, and producer for the last 20 years. His music is a powerful gumbo of American rock and roll, blues, country and singer/songwriter styles.

Rolling Stone has called Kamp an MVP of the California Roots Music scene. Ted’s record California Son, came out in March 2024, was featured in Rolling Stone Country, American Songwriter and on the Sirius XM Outlaw channel and debuted at #3 on the EuroAmericana Radio chart. Ted’s previous two records, Solitaire (2022) and Down in The Den (2020), also received critical acclaim and both debuted at #1 on the Euroamericana Radio Chart.

Aside from being a singer/songwriter and artist in his own right and releasing 14 albums of original material, he has been a member of the Shooter Jennings band for over 20 years and recorded and played with countless other artists including Tanya Tucker, Duff McKagan, Wilson Phillips, Jessi Colter and many more. Ted also got his first Grammy in 2020 for playing bass on the Tanya Tucker (Best Country Music album of the year).
