Coming to WHCK - Your Americana Extended Play Version with Jennifer Westwood and Dylan Dunbar

Writer: Jennifer Jennifer

Announcing a new show I'll be hosting on WHCK - Passernger Radio! Extended Play Version will have music and talk, feature guest hosts as well as interviews with people I like and people I admire - musicians, artists, community builders, entrepreneurs and others that have created positive outcomes for themselves and others, big and small.

Life seems effortless for others when you're on the outside looking in at influencers and those "living their best life" on social media and media in general. And there's no shortage of people willing to exploit our vulnerable feelings, sell us on a a cure for our inadequacies or a quick fix for our deficiency. I think it is rarely the case that life is effortless for anyone, and definitely not the case for the majority of us. Some people are more naturally equipped, some of us face more physical, psychological and environmental obstacles in overcoming life's challenges in general, some leverage coping strategies that are good or unhealthy to get themselves through. What about you?

I'm always amazed and in awe of people that live lives so differently than me, and especially those who pursue the arts, go into fields that aren't friendly towards them or go into business for themselves. I want to know... How do/did you do that, really? What is driving you when things go south and other's would quit? Show me some scars and tell me about them.

Also, I'm interested in authenticity, what that means, what's nobodies business and can we walk a thin line. How do people in general just get through the day, maintain mental health and how can we offer real support for one another, even if its just sharing a song.

Passenger Radio launches on March 21st at Passenger Recovery - 2697 Caniff St, Hamtramck, MI 48212 During the Hamtramck Blow Out - with food and DJs. Come on out, it's free!

For those of you not familiar with Passenger Recovery - it is a Detroit based recovery organization that supports musicians and artists on tour and in the local community.

We are excited to present Passenger Radio as a community service for Hamtramck and beyond, digitally broadcasting music that brings cultural representation, along with updates on recovery events and community services.

The Passenger Radio project would not be possible without the support of MACC, the Gibson Foundation, Shure Mics, and Electronic Theater Controls.
